Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Money have announced the first products under a new partnership between the two companies.

The Virgin Atlantic Reward and Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Cards will enable customers to earn Flying Club miles when using their card, which can be exchanged for the full range of Flying Club rewards including flights and cabin upgrades.

In addition to earning Flying Club miles, Reward and Reward+ customers can receive further credit card rewards based on spending.

Red Flying Club members can choose a free Premium upgrade when flying Economy, or an Economy reward companion seat which enables them to take a companion for no additional miles.

Silver members can choose from these same options, as well as a Premium reward companion seat or a pass for a Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse.

Gold members can choose two Clubhouse passes, an Economy, Premium or Upper Class reward companion seat, or a free premium upgrade.

Oliver Byers, senior vice president, sales and customer loyalty at Virgin Atlantic, said: “’We are incredibly excited to launch our new credit cards.

“With our cards customers can earn miles on their everyday spend to redeem for flights and upgrades and more.

“On top of that we’re offering our most valuable customers even more choice of rewards, so that they can create the Virgin Atlantic experience that suits them best.’’

All Virgin Atlantic Reward and Reward+ credit card customers have access to Virgin Money Lounges, where customers can relax, put their feet up and enjoy the surroundings.

Membership is free, as are the refreshments, use of iPads, wi-fi, newspapers and facilities to help keep children entertained.

Customers also have access to a range of exclusive offers from the Virgin Group, including discounts on a range of Virgin products such as holidays, train tickets and experience days.

The agreement between Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Money and Mastercard follows Virgin Money’s decision in 2017 to switch to Mastercard for its entire credit and debit card issuing.

The partnership will leverage Mastercard’s digital payments expertise and innovation capabilities in order to deliver convenient, safe and secure payments to all cardholders.
