Orlebar Brown, with 40 per cent of its business done online, operates 24 direct retail stores and has more than 250 wholesale stockists worldwide.
According to Philippe Blondiaux, global chief financial offer at Chanel, the acquisition will lead to synergy between Orlebar Brown and Eres, the womenswear swimwear brand the French luxury house has owned since 1996, according to European media reports.
The move will also support Orlebar Brown’s plans for expansion in the United States, Europe and Asia. (DS)
